TheColorRoom palette #35

This is #35 for TheColorRoom, and I haven't gotten to join in for quite a while and I miss it! There is so much inspiration there! This palette caught my attention and I had some leftover pieces from MCS kits and had to give this one a try! I've used this photo several times, but it just totally cracks me up. I have some new ones this year, so you will get to see some new Santa pics next time, lol!!! I used lots of Prima goodies on here and some G45 paper. I even used the sketch this week!!! You should go check them out at

Lots of Christmas goodness, MCS December reveal!!!

I'll start off with the LE kit. It features lots of Creative Imaginations IOD Night Divine and MME Holly Jolly goodies!

This first page is Jenna with Speckles. I only added a few stickles to the beautiful die cut background paper along with a floral spray and the birdnest sticker! Simple page!!!

This one is Speckles looking out the window, I just loved the look of this photo! I used a punched border strip as a mask and inked the lace border on this one.
This is me with dh and the dogs! Speckles was so little then! She made Max look huge!!!
This is ME! Back in the sixties! Look at those vintage toys!!! And my hair, oh my gosh!!!
This is another one of me! I was really bashful! this is one of my favorite old pics, it shows the little table and chairs that my Daddy built for me that year from Santa Clause!!!
This is our tree a few years ago, I had to cut the angel from the beautiful paper! And I love that gorgeous Prima bloom!
This is the first of the Main kit pages! Lots of hand cutting on this one, I used some of the BoBunny Noel paper on this one mixed with some Teresa Collins, Jenna and Speckles again!

another one of me with the Main kit! I always hated when the tree had to come down, it was so sad! I asked my Dad if they went to Christmas tree heaven! LOL!
This is Patrick when he was little! Such a little cutie he was (still is) Love the beautiful butterfly.
This one used mostly Teresa Collins paper! This is Jenna and Patrick opening a present!
This is all three when they were small! I miss those days, so much fun with Santa!!!
Jenna with Santa, love this sweet picture, one of my favorites. I made the butterfly here, it didn't turn out quite as I had hoped, lol!!!
These are the layouts with the Creative kit, featuring Echo Park Merry Christmas and LYB Christmas Delight. This is another vintage photo of me with my Dad!!!
This is Jenna and Sam, and this was taken on the actual day that Sam proposed to her!!!
Jenna being her usual self, she always gets into the Holiday Spirit early!!!!
More pics from the same day!!!

My Mind's Eye Blog Challenge &Cardstock Rose Tutorial

I did this page for the My Mind's Eye Blog Challenge #17. The challenge had to focus on "Lessons Learned" and I wanted to use the Holly Jolly collection and I had these cute pics of Speckles from last Christmas, so I chose to journal about learning a lesson from our dog!

Also, I had these little tiny rosebud blooms, we get them in the MCS kits and they are so cute, but sometimes I wanted a bigger bloom, so I made my own and used the bud for the center. I love making handmade blooms, mine aren't the best looking ones around by any means, but they are fun. So I thought I'd show how I made them.

It only takes a few basic supplies:

First cut 3 circles using any template.

Then divide into 4 sections and cut into petals. Cut a little more from one so that it's a little smaller than the other two.

Using a toothpick, piercing tool or any thing pointed curl the petal tips downward.
Then take each bloom and using a pencil with the eraser end just bend aroud the end of the pencil.
They will look something like this:
Then, just play with the petals, layer each one and place the little bud in the center!!!

November kits from MyCreativeScrapbook! Basic Grey & Fancy Pants

WOW.....this months' kits from MyCreativeScrapbook are awesome!!! Brimming with all kinds of goodies, paper, trim, sparkly things....all kinds of treasures! I got to play with the Main kit that features Fancy Pants and the LE kit featuring Basic Grey's new Curio. Both kits were so much fun!

Starting off with the Main kit, featuring Fancy Pants "Happy Together". This first page is a picture of my 3 favorite things, my kids!!!!!

This one is our dd and one of her Senior pictures. The background paper is Pink Paislee's Parasian Anthology, and I just used chalks for the look that I wanted. The rest is FP. The little green roses are the buds, I used green cardstock to make them full blooms.

This is our oldest ds, he hates having his picture taken, so I don't have near enough layouts with him in them!!! LOL!
This is our youngest ds with some friends, just being their usual "goofy" selfs. The color just would not show up right in this page, I guess because of the little dots?!?!?!
This is me, when I was little, so you can see how versatile this kit is, girl pages, boy pages, heritage pages......anything!!!
This is another one of our dds Senior pictures. They were taken back in 2004, I took the photos on our front porch!

Now, this is the LE kit and lots of Basic Grey Curio goodness!!! This first one is our dd and her then fiance and one of their engagement pics. I used a larger picture for this layout and I really liked the look.

This one is a picture of Jenna, she is doing "PinUpsforSoldiers", it's a non-profit for our Troops. They do calendars and it's retro looking like the old 50's pinups. You can check it out at

This is a beautiful Fall picture, showing the beautiful colors of North Georgia!!!

This is another pic of our dd, I used black cardstock to make the little roses and trimmed them with Ranger stickles.
This is Jenna & Sam again, this is a huge old "carving" tree, it is really beautiful!!!

This is me with Jenna, I love pictures of me with the kids, but I take terrible pics!!!!
Both kits were full of all kinds of things, and the other kits are just as gorgeous. Please go check them out at www. and please check out some of the DT blogs and see what they did with the kits too!!!!
