March 1st Challenge at OUAS!!!

Hello everyone! It's time to announce a new challenge over at Once Upon A Sketch and this is a beautiful sketch. You need to go to the blog to see all the DT work and out guest designers as well! We have the awesomely talented Iris Uy and Cathy Cafun guesting for this challenge!

For the time being a new month is upon us which brings a new challenge for the next 2 weeks.

The current challenge is one that will push you out of your comfort zone because you have to scrap a layout or create a project about YOU. Many MANY people find this daunting...I can understand that. I personally do not have a problem scrapping my self as I want my children and those I leave behind one day to know the real Nadia. But I was SO SO SO surprised to learn that my Design Team really struggled with this. This saddened saddened me as I see SO many wonderful qualities in all of them, yet it astounds me how hard us women are on our selves. We truly are. I think one thing we are ALL good at for certain, is just being WOMEN in this day and age!!

SO I am particularly keen to see you all find something that you are good at, as little or as big as that might be and be confident enough to share it with us here. I cannot wait to see your entries!! Come on ladies..its time we believed in our selves and put our selves first just this one time..!

March 1st Challenge

Journalling Criteria/Theme:
All About Me!

The focus of your journalling and the theme of your layout has to be based on YOU and something/s that you are really good at. Don't be shy! We are all good at something as small or as big as it might be.

Ideas for journalling: being a good mum, cooking, talking, understanding people, organising, cleaning, gardening, studying, computers, fashion, exercising, scrapbooking, good at my job, maths, languages, writing , drawing, painting, photography, running, craft, sewing. Maybe you can talk about an aspect of your personality..your sensitivity, your 6th sense, your patience, your strength or bravery, your ability to stay positive.

Remember that you are allowed to also create a card or altered project based on this sketch and theme and instead of the journalling criteria you need to use a quote.

You MUST combine our journalling criteria with this sketch..

Now here is my take on the challenge:

I used elements from my March Swirlydoos kit featuring some yummy Kaisercraft goodies. This is a Kaisercraft stamp and then I embossed it with WOW embossing powder.
The chippie elements on this page are from Imaginarium Designs. The butterflies and also the title. I used more WOW embossing powders on them too. And added some bling!!! The gorgous blooms are from Manorhouse Creations!

This is a closeup of the title, I mixed Bubble Gum and Peach powders one it.
This was a great challenge, it really did "challenge" me, it's hard for me to come up with anything that I'm actually good at, but I think being at Mom might be it!!! LOL! Thanks so much for stopping by! It means a lot to me!!!

Now, please check out the challenge and join us for the fun!

Some Exciting news and old favorites

I know I've been neglecting my blog for the past couple of weeks, but I've been creating, just things that I couldn't share. Well, I can share part of it finally. Tomorrow on HSN they are debuting National Craft Month. One of the products that will be shown during the month is Picture That Sound. Well, I have 2 projects that will be on, probably for a nano second, but I'm excited!!! They will show more on March 6th!!!

Since I haven't posted any projects I thought I would share some old favorites from a while back. Some pages I just go back too, something about the photos or the colors, just something. This first one was done with BoBunny and their MamaRazzi line, this was one of my favorite of all collections from them!

This one was more BoBunny, using thier line made for my good friend "Gabrielle"! I love the softness and colors in this collection!
This is another MamaRazzi page!!!! Love the masculine feel to these papers!!!
And a really old one, it's BoBunny too!!!
I'll be back to post my latest page for the new challenge at OnceUponASketch in a couple of days also!!! Thanks to everyone who drops by! I appreciate it!

Welcome to the new challenge at Once Upon A..Sketch. We are delighted to see so many of you embracing our sister blog Get Creative this month and playing along with our challenge as well as theirs. It's awesome to see how scrapbooking, which is JUST a hobby, can bring together so many people from all over the world.

Have you printed out all those photos from your last holiday or most favourite holiday? We would LOVE to see them and hear all about it. With the theme of holidays for this challenge, we would love to hear about: your favourite holiday of all time or a favourite place you would LOVE to holiday in . Or how about the last holiday you went to? Maybe you have not travelled yet? Then tell us about your DREAM HOLIDAY

Remember that you are allowed to also create a card or altered project based on this sketch and theme and instead of the journalling criteria you need to use a quote.
You must combine our journalling criteria/theme with this sketch.

The Color Room

Gosh, it's been a white since I've got to join in over at TheColorRoom, but when I saw this color palette and sketch, I had to make time! I loved the sketch so much I tried to follow it almost exactly!

Below is the palette and the sketch:

And here is my take on it:

I made the little pink blooms and leaves from Kaisercraft patterned paper and Zig markers. The little red blooms are Kaisercraft as well.
I added some little buttons, and my ink splots are drawn with Zig markers, I can't get my real ink splots to go where I want them to!! LOL! All cardstock is by WorldWin Papers! The leaves were drawn with Zig markers and cut out.
The photo is one of our daughter that was done for PinUpsForSoldiers, a non profit group that does 50's style calendars and stuff to support our troops. You can check them out online and on FB too!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog, I'm so happy that you took the time to stop by!

New Challenge Time!!!

Over at Once Upon A...Sketch, we are nearing the end of our first year and during this time we have noticed a huge amount of support from many countries around the world and we are incredibly lucky that our challenges are supported by so many people from all different parts of the globe. One of these countries is Greece, and we have come to realise that we receive many entries from such a small country where scrapbooking is so new, so we had a think and decided to team up with another challenge blog based in Greece and run by our very own Irini Liolia called Get Creative. How exciting!! We have decided to become "sister" blogs, because let's face it...most of us scrapping are women and is there anything stronger than a sisterhood? So for this month only, the Design Team from Once Upon A..Sketch are guests over at Get Creative and taking part in their 1st and 15th of the month challenges and the Design Team from Get Creative are guests on Once Upon A..Sketch! Thus a new bond is formed between 2 challenge blogs.

Here is the sketch that the Once Upon A..Sketch Design Team had to follow. It is created by Get Creative Design Team member Elina Katechi.

And here is my take on the sketch...
I used **Imaginarium Designs chipboad butterflies on this and lots of WOW Embossing powders by Suzy West.I added some stickles too and some misting. Here are some closeups:

The largest blooms is one that I made by hand.

Supplies used:
Prima patterned paper
WOW Embossing Powder Suzy West collections: Pantry
Imaginarium Designs chippie butterflies
Dusty Attic chipboard border

So head on over to the Get Creative blog to see what the rest of the Design Team created and to find out what prizes etc are up for grabs and then visit Once Upon A...Sketch to see the February 1st challenge.
