Gosh, it's been a white since I've got to join in over at TheColorRoom, but when I saw this color palette and sketch, I had to make time! I loved the sketch so much I tried to follow it almost exactly!

Below is the palette and the sketch:

And here is my take on it:

I made the little pink blooms and leaves from Kaisercraft patterned paper and Zig markers. The little red blooms are Kaisercraft as well.
I added some little buttons, and my ink splots are drawn with Zig markers, I can't get my real ink splots to go where I want them to!! LOL! All cardstock is by WorldWin Papers! The leaves were drawn with Zig markers and cut out.
The photo is one of our daughter that was done for PinUpsForSoldiers, a non profit group that does 50's style calendars and stuff to support our troops. You can check them out online and on FB too!

New Challenge Time!!!

Over at Once Upon A...Sketch, we are nearing the end of our first year and during this time we have noticed a huge amount of support from many countries around the world and we are incredibly lucky that our challenges are supported by so many people from all different parts of the globe. One of these countries is Greece, and we have come to realise that we receive many entries from such a small country where scrapbooking is so new, so we had a think and decided to team up with another challenge blog based in Greece and run by our very own Irini Liolia called Get Creative. How exciting!! We have decided to become "sister" blogs, because let's face it...most of us scrapping are women and is there anything stronger than a sisterhood? So for this month only, the Design Team from Once Upon A..Sketch are guests over at Get Creative and taking part in their 1st and 15th of the month challenges and the Design Team from Get Creative are guests on Once Upon A..Sketch! Thus a new bond is formed between 2 challenge blogs.

I used **Imaginarium Designs chipboad butterflies on this and lots of WOW Embossing powders by Suzy West.I added some stickles too and some misting. Here are some closeups:

CHA project for WorldWin Papers!!!

Today I'm sharing a layout that I did for WorldWin Papers for CHA. I used Treasures cardstock, ColorMates cardstock and embossed or stamped the embellies! Just added a little bling and a ribbon!

This page is special because it shows our sweet girl "Speckles" a couple of Winters ago playing with our son Patrick. We have our sweet Harley now but miss Speckles everyday.

I stamped various snowflakes and cut into different size circles adding a gemstone to the center. I stamped the title and cut into squares, then outlined. I used some rub-on sentiments in circle shapes on some of them also.

I added a couple of white striped that I embossed with snowflake shapes with blue and red embossing powder and added a ribbon.

Really easy and quick page too, and it's pretty flat, it will fit into an album easily. Most of my pages are so bulky they won't fit. It's nice to have a flatter look! I urge you to all check out WorldWin for all of your cardstock needs, they have the best quality and any color you can think of!!!!

WOW Embossing CHA layout

Things are getting ready at CHA and I would love to invite everyone who may be there to PLEASE visit the WOW Embossing booth, they are in booth 2700. You really need to check out all the gorgeous colors and the awesome stamps that are in the Suzy West lines!!!

These powders are so easy to use, and the colors are so vibrant. I'm so lucky to be a part of this team! Tell them that I sent you if you stop in! Basically Bare will be sharing the booth, you need to make sure to check out all the awesome products from both!!!

Here is a layout that will be in the booth, this is our sweet girl "Harley". I used the Candy Counter collection in this layout and also the Butterflies and Call Me stamp sets. I did lots of embossing on this one!

Here is a closeup of some detail. I used WorldWin Papers vellum and drew leaves with an embossing pen, then embossed with the Gummy Bear Green.
I used the Call Me stamp and used different colors and cut little strips to highlight the different colors. I also used an old mask (swirl) and traced it, them embossed that with the Whirly Pop.

Here is one of the butterflies, also done with vellum. I stamped one outline, then one of the different pattern insides on 2 pieces, cut each out, layered them and added the bling.

CHA projects for WOW Embossing!

Today I'm going to show peeks of a few projects that I did for "WOW Embossing" for CHA. This first one is a little mini album that is 3x3. I used a Suzy West floral stamp and the Suzy West colors from the Candy Counter collection.

I used Suzy West Whirly Pop, Gummy Bear Green, and Cotton Candy. I also used Wow regular Peach. The little chippie frame is from Imaginarium Designs chipboard.

Below is a journal that I used the same colors on. I'll show more detail of this later, inside there is a page for each month with spots for journaling.
This is a 10x10 old fashioned paper scrapbook. I used Whirly Pop embossing powder and also silver on the edges of the leaves. I used an old Heidi Swapp mask, traced it, used an embossing marker and then embossed the butterflies!

Getting Ready for CHA!!!

There is so much buzz going on with CHA coming up! Lots of new collections, lots of sneek peeks!!! I've been busy creating projects for WOW Embossing and WorldWin Papers, and I will be sharing some of them over the next days.

This first one was done for WorldWin. I used various papers on this one. I used PaperLayerz, Colormates cardstock and vellum. The PaperLayerz work so easily with die cut machines. I used my Cricut to make the flowers, leaves and letters. I punched the border strip and butterflies.

The flowers were done with 3 sizes of blooms cut on the Cricut, the leaves as well. I used the PaperLayerz for these.

WorldWin has paper for any of your scrapbooking, card making or other paper crafting projects. And the CutMates and PaperLayerz are made especially for ease of cutting on die cutting machines. If you are going to CHA, please stop by the booth and check out all the projects!

Sharing some WorldWin Paper projects!!!

I've been busy working on some projects for CHA for WorldWin Papers, I will be able to share them soon, but for now I wanted to share a few past projects to show just how versatile and easy WorldWin is to use!

First, this is just a little mini accordian book, really simple using Treasures cardstock.

One of my favorite things to do with WorldWin paper is to make flowers and leaves! These were some of my favorites!

And here is just a mix of different ones that I had been playing around with, all using WorldWin cardstock!
This is a little "matchbook" mini album. These are so quick and easy to do!!!

And I even stamped and cut out some Fall leaves with it! Just lots of different things to do.

A Few Websters Projects

First of all, congratulations to the new Websters Pages clean and simple design team. And also welcome back to the talented ladies from the Classic design team! Special shout out to my peeps, Gabi and Gerry!!! So glad you ladies are there for another year!!!

I did try out, but was a little confused with the clean and simple, since Websters has such lucious, and such detailed papers!!! But I threw my hat in, these are some pages that I did trying to do the "clean and simple" style!!! LOL!!!

First this is our dd and her baby "Boots", on the hammock! I used some older scraps from the Ladies and Gents and Wonderfall collections!

This one is my niece! Loved the colors in the pics and used some Let's Celebrate for this!
Again, used the Let's Celebrate, and this is of course our sweet baby girl "Harley", she's such a little ham!!! I think my favorite Websters product may be the Storytellers alphas. They go so far, and there are so many, theres always some to go with whatever I'm working on!!!
Well, again, I thought maybe I would wear Brandin down by applying again, lol!!! But I'm sure the amount of submissions was overwhelming and she chose some really talented scrappers. I will be looking forward to seeing all the beautiful work in the coming year! Congrats ladies!!!

A Little Basic Grey

I wanted to share a few layouts that I did with Basic Grey! I had fun playing with all the fun colors, I just used some of the old papers that I've had. This first one is of our two sweeties, Harley and Jefferson!!!

I thought the colors in these papers were absolutely perfect for the fun beach pics of the girls!!! They were having a fun time during Spring Break at PCB!

Sorry, I've been a little neglectful of my blog lately, I've been working on CHA projects. Just about done, so will be back posting more regular!!! I've been seeing some awesome sneeks so far. Here's my take on the challenge. This was tough for me, we lost my Father-in-law and our beloved Bulldog last December one day apart, so our New Year's Eve was spend remembering and reflecting about them.

Imaginarium!!!

Well, I wasn't going to do this, but I absolutely LOVE Imaginarium Designs chipboard and they're having a DT call. So.....here goes. We are supposed to post our 10 favorite projects using chipboard. These are mine. I would soooo love to design for them, I have become addicted to chipboard and enjoy doing different things to it. Here are my top 10 fav projects with chippies.

This first one uses a feather, it's not Imaginarium, but a very good friend (Gabrielle, thanks Gabi!) gave me this beautiful peacock feather, so I embossed it in different colors to match the one on the paper.

This one uses Imaginarium Designs, this beautiful flourish is one of my absolute favs of thiers. I embossed this one!
I used the little Imaginarium Designs frame for the little bloom cluster.
This one is a lampost that I used several techniques on. I used embossing and markers as well.

This one uses Imaginarium chippies too, the frame and the little birdcage and butterfly. Embossed and stickled and little pearls added too!

This one uses Imaginarium Designs butterflies. The leaves are other chipboard. I embossed the butterflies, inked the leaf vine and title frame with Ranger alcohol ink.

On this one I used Bronze embossing powder on the Eiffel Tower accent to match the title letters.
This one I used Imaginarium Designs butterflies and flourish. Love those butterflies!!! The title is Imaginarium also.

ON this on I used the other style of Imaginarium Designs butterflies. I embossed the entire image then stickled the edges!

The title, birds, and flower are all Imaginarium Designs! THe title letters as well, I stickled on top of the embossing for the title letters "dream".

I know there will be tons of entries, but I LOVE the products and would give one hundred and ten percent if chosen for the team!!! Good luck to all the talented ladies who are applying!!!

**Imaganarium Designs chippies adornments & lacy butterfly**

I added crystal stickles to the cutout designs from the Websters Pages paper. For the adornment I embossed with white UTEE and added crystal stickles on top.

I just wound some bronze colored fiber around my fingers and tied it for accents instead of ribbon.

~The Color Room~ Websters & Imaginarium Designs

I had a chance to play again this week at TheColorRoom. I absolutely loved this color palette and I stuck precisely to the sketch, even down to the little "My Sweet Love" tag!!! I used Websters Pages and Imaginarium Designs chippies on this. It's also another wedding page for our dd's album.

This is the color palette and the sketch:

And this is my take on it:

For the "splot" on the sketch I just took my Studio Calico Mister Huey's in custard and held it really close to the page and spritzed one good time and held the paper up and let it run. I spritzed a couple of other spots too.
I used two colors of Websters Pages bloomers and papers from the Lets Celebrate and Trendsetter lines.
On the Imaginarium Designs butterfly chippies I heat embossed them with white UTEE and then used colored stickles around the edges. I put little pearls in the center.

A New Websters Pages Layout

One of our Once Upon A Sketch design team members, the awesomely talented Helen Tilbury, has had her google account and blog removed by accident. I've been playing with my Websters Pages again. And another wedding page for Jenna!!! These

pictures were taken at Jekyll Island when looking for a place for the wedding. I thought the paper was perfect for these pics because of the arbor! I've used Imaginarium Designs chipboard again too! And did lots of embossing on it!

The silhouette photo was perfect, I just cut out the inside of the arbon on the paper! The chippie below is where I got the title. It's Imaginarium Designs. The alphas are where I got "dream".

For the little birds I used Ranger embossing powder in several layers. The word Destination was embossed white, inked yellow and embossed white again.
The flowers were embossed green on the stems and the little blooms white then stickles added to them.

Websters Pages Layout

Well, I finally got my space clean enough to scrap!!! I had let it get to the point that I didn't have enough room for anything but the 12x12 paper itself!!! I had my Webster's goodies just staring at me for the last month, the warehouse box that I got and my prize from the challenge! Well, this is what I finally got done. Excuse the picture please, the page isn't really crooked!!! I don't know what happened with the pic!

I used Websters Pages "Lets Celebrate" collection and I also used Imaginarium chippies on the page!

For the Imaginarium birdcage chippie I embossed it yellow and then added just a touch of stickles! The Imaginarium butterfly was embossed white and then I dabbed alcohol ink in blue on it.

The Imaginarium frame was embossed white, then alcohol inked yellow then just embossed with white in a few spots then a touch of stickles added to that! This butterfly was done the same as the first but with pink alcohol ink.
I added some Websters trim along the bottom of the frame and then used some Websters netting and made the little stickpin!***Imaginarium Chipboard***

Swirlydoos

Wow...the October kit from Swirlydoos was fantastic! I have enjoyed this kit tremendously. This page was done for the Swirlyhues challenge. I didn't finish in time but this is it!!! This is our youngest ds and his girlfriend. Aren't they sweet?!?!?! I absolutely love this kit. I've gotten quite a few pages done with it. I still have some left and guess what? I got my CNS and should have my next kit in the next few days! I can't wait!!!

This is a Dusty Attic chippie from my good friend Gabrielle!!! Thanks Gabi! I used alcohol ink and then used a Sakura glitter pen to the edges. I used a definition sticker on a scrap of the patterned paper and attached it to it. The little blooms are handmade, I will post a tutorial tomorrow hopefully on them, they are so easy, and you can do any size and color.

The leaves chippies are just painted with a light green acrylic paint and then alcohol inked a little darker in places. I dotted blue liquid pearl in the centers of the butterfly trim.
The little chippie butterflies are Imaginarium! I love Imaginarium chippies, they are so easy to work with and even the tiniest detail lets go easily. I used little pearls in the center. On the butterflies themselves I inked them with alcohol ink in Butterscotch and then dabbed gold fixative in spots and used a glitter pen on the edges.

It's time for a new challenge at OUAS!

I'm so happy to announce that a new challenge is up over at "Once Upon A Sketch". Please be sure to check out the blog at www.onceuponasketchblog@blogspot.com to see the design team projects and more details.

The Main prize for this challenge is a lucious October kit from Swirlydoos kit club. I used this kit for my layout along with some Imaginarium chippies!

Here is my take on the challenge.

I embossed the key with gold and drew the journal spot, I got the idea from an old one that was black.

For the chippie flourishes I embossed them with white and sprayed them with Studio Calico's Mister Huey's mist in custard. The bloom wasn't quite the right color either, so I sprayed it with Mister Hueys also!

I used the Tim Holtz film and used rubon words on it, it worked perfectly!!!

On the butterfly I embossed it white and then used a couple of colors of ink and dabbed it with color.

Swirlydoos and Gabi's Sketch!!!

My good friend Gabrielle Pollacco has done a beautiful sketch! I liked it so much that I had to give it a try. I also had just received my lucious, goodie crammed October kit from Swirlydoos, so I decided to use it. This is the original sketch. And this is my take on the sketch. I used this picture of our youngest ds and his girlfriend walking just before dark! I had to use the chippie lampost from Kaisercraft! The papers are from Glitz!! And of course the blooms are Prima!
I cut a circle from a piece of cardstock and placed it over the page around the lamp, then I used Studio Calico Mister Huey's mist to make a "glow" around it. The actual lampost is heat embossed with black and platinum embossing powder. Then I used Glitz alpha stickers for the word.
This is detail of the smaller rubon lamp, I placed a small gem for the flame in both and you can also see some of the liquid pearl accents that I used around the scallop circle.
I cut out the birds from the sheets from Glitz! I kept the rest and used several layered as matts.

I loved this sketch and really had fun doing this page. The Glitz collection is just absolutely stunning and I loved every piece of it! I have plenty of this Swirly kit left and will post more pages later!!!

Ever do a page with no patterned paper?

Makes you think outside the box. I did one for WorldWin and kept it simple to focus on the cardstock. I did mange to do some simple techniques on the page, but it turned out pretty cute!

I used punches, stamps, stickers and blooms for it!

The background paper was done with different leaf pattern stamps. I used gold, green and burnt orange inks for it. I punched the little lacy borders.

The leaves are stamped and cut out. Folded a little bit and that's it! Really, really simple! I added the 2 Prima blooms and that's it!!!! I wanted to show off the WorldWin papers on this. I used several different types and colors! I used ColorMates and DoubleMates paper on this. Gives a different look rather than the usual type leaves!

Been Busy!

Just thought I'd post a couple of minis that I did for EMI. I had them done for a while, but haven't had a chance to post them. I've been creating other things too. I'll get back to posting steady here hopefully before long. Things have been busy at home!!!

This first one was done with some MME goodies mixed with some Graphic45.

This last one was MME as well! mixed with some Echo Park. The bloom was done with Mister Huey mist and Glimmer Mist. It's cream hydrangeas of two sizes!

Late Color Room page and new Mini for EMI

I did this page for The Color Room last week, but didn't get finished in time!!! I used Pink Paislee goodies on the page. This is pictures of our dd through the years.

The flower above is just hydrangea blooms layered together, 2 larger and one small with a gem in the middle.
I just tied a bow and put a pearl stick pin through it.
This is a new minibook that I did for EMI, I have several more, but need to get pictures. This is just a simple, but cute book done with some MME!

Swirlydoos has a new color/sketch challenge. This is their very first palette. I urge you to go over to Swirlydoos.com and check it out. This is a wedding page for our dd's album, and Iused the September Swirlydoos kit. This kit features Prima Printery and BoBunny Et Cetera, they mix beautifully. For this page I used the BoBunny and the blooms are all handmade with Swirlydoo tutorials except for the larger one! The leaves are stamped and cut out.

New Challenge for Once Upon A Sketch

The journaling criteria for this challenge was to journal "on" your photo, this is a picture of our dd and her then fiance, it's one of their engagement pics that I took, and I printed a few of the words to the song "Center of My World", it was the song that was their "first dance" at the wedding.

The chipboard elements are from Imaginarium Designs!!! The title "journey" and the flourish and also the compass! I embossed the compass, but the title and flourish are just painted.

It's time for a new challenge over at Once Upon A Sketch and this one will be just a little different, hope you can join us for this challenge!!!

Color Combos Galore!!!

Okay, I've seen so many projects done for CCG, but I've never had time to join in. I finally participated in a challenge! The palette was attractive to me, I love purple and lavendar!!! These are more wedding pics for dd's wedding album.

This page was also based on a sketch by Beggahuna for Swirlydoos!!!

I added lots of pearl accents, that was part of the inspiration challenge. I added little blue and white pearls all over. I made a little pearl stick pin too.
I added a chipboard title done with white alphas, with crystal stickles added to the top.
This is a close-up of the little blue pearl dots that I put on the lace border.
And this is the color palette and inspiration board.

I will say, for my first time, I really enjoyed this challenge, and I was made to feel very welcome at CCG. I look forward to doing more of their challenges!!!

A Couple of Basic Grey layouts

Here's a couple of pages that I did using some Basic Grey stuff. I am so anxious to see who makes their design team, I hope to see some familiar names on the list! This first page is done with scraps from Lauderdale. A really quick and easy page. I love the bright colors, perfect for beach photos!!!

This one I did with Sweet Threads. These are pictures of our three children, the pictures are a few years old, but they were taken on Mother's Day and I love the pictures!!! I love the subtle soft colors in this collection!!!

Well, while we wait to see who makes the team, I think I will go work on some other projects and finish some mini-albums that I've been working on!!! Thanks for visiting my blog!!!

Hi everyone and welcome to the September 1st challenge. First day of September and for us here in Australia it is the very first day of spring. The weather in Sydney has been amazingly beautiful and just perfect for scrapping.

So here is our September 1st challenge...

Journalling Criteria : A memorable year - Your title must be a year, and you must journal at least 2 lines on why this year is memorable for you. Examples: the year you got married, the year you graduated, the year you moved to a new house/country, the year you started a new job, the year your child was born, the year you lost someone dear. Your journalling can be in any language and any format (written, typed etc)

I used Echo Park's Victoria Garden and I LOVE this collection, the soft colors, the designs, they are absolutely lucious!!! And of course I used Imaginarium chipboard, the title and the little butterfly!!! I embossed them with yellow and pink embossing powder.

Some Old Pages

Well, as most of you probably know, Basic Grey is having a DT call. Any of you that have known me for very long will remember that BG was my very first, favorite manufacturer! My nickname over at sb.com back in 2005-2008 was "the basic grey queen", LOL~~~

I haven't decided whether or not to try for this, I usually don't have much luck with these things, but I'm throwing the idea around. I know there will be many who do apply and I wish you all luck. It did get me to browsing through my old pages and I thought that I would share a few of my favorites!!! Now keep in mind, some of these, in fact most, are pretty old and my style was way different then, lol!!!

I am so excited!!! It's my first sketch with Once Upon A Sketch since joining the design team. I am so lucky to be a part of such a wonderful team. Nadia has awesome sketches and is sure to inspire you! Here is the next challenge!

AUGUST 1st CHALLENGE

Journalling Criteria: Finish this line "A PERFECT DAY IS....." . Your journalling has to be at least2 lines long, and with the theme of a whatever a perfect day for you is or a perfect day that you have had already e.g. a birthday, a holiday, a childhood memory, a wedding day, graduation day etc. Your journalling can be ANY type : handwritten, typed, etc...

You MUST combine our journalling criteria with this sketch...

And, here is my take on the challenge! I used Webster's Pages Yacht Club papers. My perfect day is any day spent at the beach!!!! I used WorldWin cardstock (black) that's the only cardstock that I use if possible. I used acrylic paint behind the paper for a beachy feel to the page.

Back from CHA and some news!!!!!

We had a blast at CHA but it's good to be home!!! Had an awesome time with Susan, Suzy and Mylissa and also got to see some of my favorite scrappers!!! Of course I had to say hello to Miss Cari Fennell, she's one of my all time favs!!! She was busy at the Prima booth, but always has time to say hello, she is wonderful! And of course "Dan the Fancy Pants Man", he's our go to for Fancy Pants.

And I got to see Brandin and have my pic made with her, and her sister Shawna is just as pretty and sweet as Brandin!

Okay, now for some of my favorites from the show. Well, of course my personal favs were from Websters Pages! The Western Romance is gorgeous in person, the photos do not do it justice, and all the new goodies, the trims.........all gorgeous! The other lines are equally as beautiful, I just love the WR, it even has a bulldog on it!!!

Other favs were of course Glitz, all three lines are super! Just love all of it!!! And can't wait for the PP Nantucket and Jillibean.......lots of goodies, those were just my favs. I'll post pics from my fav Christmas lines later too!!! I took some pics of my friends who couldn't be there but had work in some of the booths, like Gabrielle, and Mirielle and was going to for Lisa V., but couldn't take pics at Petaloo, and Lisa G.'s stuff didn't make it to Heartfelt Creations. I got pics for Angelica at ZVA I believe it was, my brain is still a little mushy, but I got a pic for Ang too!!!

And......last, for my other news, I was chosen to be on the "Once Upon A Sketch" design team. I am blown away happy with this! I am so happy to be a part of a team with so many awesome and talented ladies!!!! It was the best news I've had for quite a while!!! Can't wait to get started with them.

~Color Me Crazy~Petaloo & Swirlydoos

Petaloo is having a contest, it's for their "Color Me Crazy" collection. You can do anything to these items, ink them, chalk them, anything you can dream up. I used several different techniques on these blooms which I will detail below. I used papers from the July Swirlydoos kit for this as well. And did this for the Once Upon A Sketch also. This is our dd on her wedding day, putting on her make-up. I had the thought that this was the last time that she put her makeup on as "Jenna Hamil", the next time was as a married woman!

On the leaves I just used a Zig marker, I colored on the back side of the leaves for a softer look, then I just used stickles around the edges and on the veins. On the chipboard I first coated the entire piece with gesso, then Lumiere mixed with perfect pearls. Then I covered with Shimmerz pixie dust and last used alcohol ink on top.
For the blooms, the larger one is colored with Zig marker, then covered with pixie dust. Then I added stickles. For the smaller blooms I colored the yellow centers with Zig markers also. The little tan bloom was colored with chalk, then pixie dust. And the lillie bloom was painted with Lumiere mixed with latte alcohol ink, then pixie dust and I used puffy paint on the edges.
The tiny blue blooms were chalked and pixie dusted. I had so much fun trying different mediums on these blooms and leaves. I have a bunch left and plan on doing lots more things with them!!!

My First SWIRLYDOOS Layout!!!!

Well, I finished my first Swirlydoos page with my first kit and I couldn't wait to share it. This picture is a little wonky, I'll try to get a better one tomorrow. There were so many beautiful things in this kit! It features some Kaisercraft, some beautiful Butterfly Garden by Pink Paislee, Graphic 45's Once Upon A Springtime, some Prima goodies, some sparklies.....all kinds of pretty things!!!!

Here are a few closeups of the details.
The leaves are stamped from a CTMH stamp set and the edges curled a little.
I used the stamp set that came in the kit (yes, a stamp set!) and the Kaiser bling for this accent.
And these are the little tiny Kaiser alphas! Cute, but a little hard to work with!!!!

I am totally loving this kit. Have another page going right now, and another in my head!!!! Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it!!!

Some Good News

Well, I've had a few good scrap related things happen lately, I got banner of the week at Webster's Pages a few weeks ago and that was exciting to me.

I checked the "Once Upon A Sketch" blog a little bit ago to be surprised to see my page as one of the featured pages for the June 15th challenge! The page below is the one featured! That made my day!!!

Earlier, I was happily surprised to find that I had won the June Traditional challenge over at Webster's Pages with this layout. I won a collection of the new "Let's Celebrate" papers! I had won previously for their "Let's Celebrate" contest and won the new trim, so I'm waiting and stalking my mailman!!! The page below is the page that I won the challenge with.

And, last but not least, I recently subscribed to "Swirlydoos" and got my first kit today. It's gorgeous, so many pretty things in it! Gorgeous paper, trim, bling, stamp set, blooms, flocked rubons, lots of sparkly and pretty things!!!!

So I've had some good things happen, things that make me feel better, I've been in such a scrap slump lately, seems that my style is just outdated! I need to learn about all the new mixed media stuff, and I really need and WANT some of that cool chipboard everyone is using!! LOL!!!

My Favourite Embellies GIVE-AWAY!!!

Webster's June Challenge

I had wanted to do the June traditional challenge over at Webster's Pages, but didn't have but 2 pieces of the Yacht Club paper!!! I had some of the embellies but only 2 sheets of the paper. I did have the Fabric Tickets, so I decided to try it These are also store samples for EMI. I have these 2 pages, I'm not sure which one to enter, but I'm thinking the first one.

On this one I just drew the fireworks and added stickles to them!

Everybody that knows me knows that I totally love Websters and I'm excited to see the new collections too!

It's time for another sketch over at "Once Upon A Sketch". This is the sketch for June 15th. I had to try this one. Please go over to the website and join yourself!!!

The journaling criteria was to journal at least 4 sentences about why the pictures are special. These pictures represent our dd volunteering for P.U.F.S. (PinUpsforSoldiers). and all proceeds go to our troops. They do calendars, events and other things. And she is so happy to do it, her PUFS name is "Liberty Belle". These were taken at one of the events.
These are just a few close-ups of the details on the page.

The Color Room Palette #62

got to play with the palette at TheColorRoom this week. This one is a bit different for me. I usually gravitate toward the frilly, lacy, floral type pages. I realized that I didn't have much paper in these colors. I had to pull out some older paper and mix some old elements also! And it's a boy page! So I added stars and buttons and I did have to put a couple of blooms. The hibicus are some that I cut by hand, didn't turn out quite like I had planned!!! I used the sketch as a starting point, but I used one photo instead of the three. This definitely stretched my creativity. Thanks for the push!!! Update on "Harley"

We've had Harley now for a couple of weeks and she's getting settled. She seems to love Jefferson and he honestly seems to like her as well! Even though he is so much bigger than her!!! I finally got some pictures, everyone has been asking to see her. So here she is!

Webster's Goodness

I was lucky enough to get "Banner of the Week" over at InspireMe for Webster's Pages, and I was estatic!! And I was chosen as a featured artist the week before. This just made my otherwise terrible week much, much better!!!!

I used the Ladies & Gents collection for these pages, this collection surely suits it's name. It is the most versatile collection ever! You can make it masculine to really really feminine and anything in between!!!! I just love it!!!! And thanks so much for recognizing my work at Websters!!!

This is the page that got BOTW.....it's my Dad in the early 1960's.

This is our dd on her wedding day, I thought this paper was absolutely perfect for the photo!

This is one of our dd's engagement photos! I love this die cut paper!

And this is them again, happily married!!!! I totally love this collection!!!

Sadly these are my last pages done for MCS (MyCreativeScrapbook). I am no longer on the DT there. I've been busy with the newest addition to our family!!! This is "Harley"!!! A sweet, adorable little English Bulldog! She is precious. As most of you know we lost our precious "Speckles" in December and have been totally heartbroken. This little girl will never replace her, but she sure fills up an empty spot in our hearts! She reminds us of all the love that Bulldogs have to give! She is the sweetest little thing, and she is so funny!!! I hope to get some good pics of her later this week, it has been cold, cloudy and yucky here this week! Just wanted to share her with all of you!!! Thanks for looking!!!

How About Some Pink Paislee & Prima

Anyone that knows me will vouch for the fact that I'm a Prima junkie. I just love blooms, can't get enough of them! My lss owner thinks I'm totally obsessed!!! I stalk the store when a shipment is coming!!! And I love Pink Paislee's Butterfly Garden also. So when EMI got a shipment in the store and MCS featured it in their kit I was in heaven. These are the layouts that I have completed so far.

This is a friend of our ds, she is the sweetest person and she is beautiful inside and out. I cut the sheer ribbon in half and wove it through holes punched in the circles. I used some netting and tied a bow around it and attached the little angel also. This photo is a little bright.

This is our beautiful niece on her wedding day. I used the soft colors of the collection for this one, and these blooms are some of the handmade ones.
This is our dd on her wedding day. I used a Basic Grey lace die cut underneath on this one.
This one uses some Prima Botanicals for the background mixed with the PP, I love the soft look of these two together.
I haven't forgotten, I will be posting a photo tutorial of the hand made blooms very soon. I just have to get some decent pics!!! Thanks for dropping by!

Lots of Handmade Blooms

It's reveal time again at MyCreativeScrapbook, and I will be posting my entire reveal later or tomorrow, but in the meantime I wanted to share a little peek of the handmade blooms that I used on a couple of the layouts. There are lots of gorgeous blooms in the kits, but I added a few more, since I am a flower junkie!!! I will be posting a photo tutorial later on each type. Thanks for checking them out!

This first picture has a couple of different types. The small cream one is made from ribbon, and goodness knows I could not for the life of me tell you how I did it, but most of you probably know how to do them anyway! But the larger blooms were done with a Creative Memories circle cutter, some punches and ink.

These were done almost the same way, but drawn by hand and misted also.

The small ones in this photo were actually made from the Prima packaging in the kit and punched.

Scraplifting and nasty, rude people

Well, it has happened. I never thought that I would see the day that taking up for someone would cause so much trouble. A lot of my friends and other scrappers have been blatantly lifted lately. And not just lately, for quite a while. Most have said nothing, since there is a fine line on lifting and being inspired by someone. Most scrappers are sincere and will put "inspired by" and give proper credit when a page is really lifted, not just ideas but almost the exact paper, elements, title, etc and so on. One person has even been removed from a site for doing it. But she moved over to another one is doing the same thing. I put a comment, yes I guess it was a little rude, but all I said was "this reminds me of a page I saw...." well, I got a nasty pm and then all of a sudden I have ugly comments on my blog, on my mini-books that they are copies of someone elses. They are not, and everyone who knows me will vouch for that fact. I guess they think I will shut up. I looked up their blog only to find that it has been removed!!! The name of the blog was "Linda-isms All the Rage". Wonder why!!! LOL!

I just think this is riduculous, to get so nasty and negative over a hobby that is filled will joy, passion and fulfillment. Some people work on DT's and mfgs. and have numerous publications and teach and honestly make a living doing this, most don't, but lifting can be serious. Goodness, this lady won't quit!!! Anyway, just had to vent, and if you see any more nasty comments on my blog, you will know why. Probably will see some on my galleries as well!

I urge the rest of you who have been lifted by this person, check your comments, she may be leaving some for you as well!!! Hopefully not. Sorry to have to make this post, but I felt it necessary!

Adding a "Little Punch" to your Pages!

Sometimes you want to add just a little something extra to your page, but you're not really sure how. I have found that an easy way to add details is to use your standard small punches. I tend to use a lot of florals on my pages so I dug out my trusty little 5 petal paper shaper punch. On this first page I used the circle cut out just as it was, with the patterned floral, which is really pretty. Nothing was wrong with the page as it was. But I wanted to add a little. So, on this page, I added my little punched blooms, and it gave the page just the little extra punch that I wanted. They are really easy to do. I always like to give them a little shape so they don't just lay flat on the page.

Here are the supplies I used: cardstock, marker, stickles, paper shaper punch and adhesive.

First, I just punched out the little blooms.

Next, I took my marker, just a darker shade of the color of your preferred cardstock and colored in the centers, not even circles, blended out a little.

Then, I "crunch" the little petals inward in my fingers, shown below afterward.

Last, I just add a little dot of stickles for the center!

All that's left is to adhere them to your project. I like to use Martha Stewart gel adhesive, it goes on in very small amounts and dries pretty quickly. I prefer to use WorldWin Treasures cardstock, it has just the right texture and you can find any color imaginable. You can do a lot with these little blooms, just play around with them and I'm sure you can come up with lots of uses. You can cluster them up on drawn stems, or use single as accents! Just have fun with your little punches!!!

It's been one year now for the awesome site "The Color Room", and I had to join in with this beautiful color palette this week! I have been away for awhile, but I finally have a new laptop and am back with technology!!! LOL!

This is a special page to me, it's another page of our precious Speckles. I know some of you may be tired of hearing me talk about it, but I really miss her every single day. She was a perfect companion and friend and there will never be another one like her, or no other dog will hold the special place in my heart that she does.

Once Upon A Sketch

This is my take on the very first sketch for the new sketch blog "Once Upon A Sketch". I love the simple design and used some Echo Park for this one. This is my Mom, she and my Dad were both in the Air Force when they were young, they were not always in the same place, I've found pictures with notes mailed to each other, this is one of them. The writing on the back says "To my Dear Smitty, All my Love"!!!! Smitty was my Dad's nickname!

Once Upon a Sketch has some wonderful designers on their team, so I'm looking forward to much inspiration. Please go check it out if you haven't already!!! Websters Pages Spring Market

Here's a page I did for my lss (EMI in Cumming, GA) using the Webster's Pages Spring Market collection. I used the transparency on this page. This page is special anyway beacsue it's our 2 dogs who are no longer with us. Max our MinPin went to a new home when we moved, and our precious Speckles lost her fight with cancer on December 27th. But this was happy times, they brought lots of love and life to our home and family.

The page itself, you can't tell in the photo, but the outside border is popped up on a chipboard base, lots of dimension in person. And the little blooms are punched and have stickles for centers and the little bucket has glossy accents to mimic water. Lots of fun with this page!

Meet Jefferson

As most of you know, on December 27, 2010 we lost our precious baby girl, our English Bulldog "Speckles", who was so much more than a dog. She was my best friend and my constant companion. I miss her every single day. Also, the very day after we lost her, my Fatherinlaw passed away unexpectedly. He had a dog. Well, we lost our dog, he lost his human, so after a lot of thought we decided to try to take him. We didn't know how it would work out, he was 165 pounds of big, outside, slobbery dog who had never been in the house, never been on a ride or anything. We took him to the vet, then brought him home. He had a couple of accidents the first day, but after that he has been wonderful!!! He has adjusted exceptionally well. He's such a big ham! He isn't my Speckles, but I need to be fair to him, he is a very good dog and I can not compare him or blame him. So, I've been trying really hard to let him into my heart. He will hever hold the special part that Speckles has, but he will be as a very good friend told me "the second best dog we've ever had"!!! Thanks Krissy!!! And here is the pic!!! Wish us luck!

How About Some Graphic45 Goodness?

Well, I'm sure most of you know that Graphic45 is having a Design Team call. I haven't decided to try or not, but I do love their products, and I didn't go to Winter CHA, but their booth at Chicago this Summer was FANTASTIC!!! Everything was themed and the staff even had on Steampunk outfits~!!! It was so cool! I love their products, I love vintage. I don't get a chance to use much of it, I can't find it close by, but Pam (MCS) puts it in the kits from time to time and I LOVE it! I wouldn't know how to act if I had a complete line to play with!!! Anyway, here are some projects that I have done!

First is a mini that I did for our dd's wedding. I left the journaling blank so that she can fill it in herself. I used miscellaneous chipboard pages and paper from the "Once Upon A Springtime" collection. I also added some chipboard elements for dimension. And of course, some blooms!!!

This is a page of our youngest ds and his girlfriend! I thought this picture was very "Edward/Bella" looking!!! I used the "Once Upon A Springtime" for this also.

These are pictures of our youngest ds and dd playing in the creek! This was a really simple page and really quick to do.

This page is special to me, this is a picture of me with my Dad and Mom on the courthouse steps in 1963 on the day that my adoption became final, I tried to keep this page really soft looking.

This is our dd in the backyard during Spring. I used a vine trim and wound it through the frame like it was growing. I popped up a couple of the little fairies and added blooms!

This one is our dd when she was a baby! I used the Springtime collection again!!! I love this line. I cut out some of the blooms and popped them up and added stickles for dimension on this one.

This is a box that I altered for cards. I used mixed Christmas collections from the last 2 years for this. I covered all sides.

Here are 2 cards that I made. I love the richness of these papers.

This is a page that I did for TCR and a color challenge. The Christmas collections are just gorgeous!!!

This is a page that I did with the older Christmas line. I did this page a while back for my lss.
